rain rain, go away...

so apparently we decided to come to monrovia at the start of rainy season. we've been lucky and had mostly sunny weather up til last night. it's about 9:30 in the morning right now, and it has been raining ever since about 5:30 last night. doesn't show any signs of letting up any time soon. the chapmans have a tin roof, which sounds cool with the rain coming down. when it rains hard, though, it's really intense! hopefully it will let up soon because today is our day to venture to the market!

peace and love

  1. Doesn't sound like there has been very much development since I was there over 20 yrs ago. Your descriptions match my remembrace. I'm sure any progress would be painfully slow there. They are seriously disadvantaged and entrenched in a poverty mindset. "It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks", as the saying goes. Throwing war into the equation is totally debilitating. When developed countries throw a lot of money at the problem it doesn't effect healthy self sustaining growth. Are there any seeds of hope?
Hope the rain lets up. Love to all, Gary
